NC - Noises :S

Postby Schultzy » Wed Oct 20, 2010 11:03 pm

Hiya all,

Just noticed today a new noise coming from the front end of the car when going up a curb into a driveway/driving slowly over uneven terrain (work carpark)

Its sounds like a groan/movement and reminds me of the old NA before I added chassis braces to stiffen it all up.

I'm a little worried that it could be a mount of some sort but the car only has about 25,000kms on it.

Any ideas at all or should I head into MX5Plus on the weekend?

Thanks guys

Schultz

No suspension noises, front or rear, noted on our car. All original (except sways) at 45,000 km.

Cheers JBT, have booked in with Danny's shop tomorrow morning to have a hunt for what it might be. Will post with results!

The noise you’re talking about sounds very much like sway bar bushes.
Get out the grease and lube them up.

A can of Lanolin lubricant, and a process of elimination by spraying spray one bush at time, (the lanolin will not harm the rubbers).
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?
