Does anyone know if the MX 5 speed sensor is a hall effect sensor or an inductive sender sensor?

cheers

The 5 speed NA6 had the old style speedo cable & gear, but they changed over to electronic (hall effect I believe) in the 5 speed NB8A in '98 I think.

Not sure about the NA6 but with the NA8 there's the old style cable into the instrument panel but then there's an output signal into the ecu from the instrument panel. This is very useful for fitting after market cruise control. Don't know whether hall effect or whatever tho.
