Would be worth doing a leakdown test to check compression.

Try unplugging the PCV hoses, plug-up the tubes on the intake plenum and intake pipe, and install PCV filters (those mini pod-filers) on the cam cover.
If you still notice smoke on start-up and hard acceleration, then it's NOT the PCV system.
It'll be a new one for me if a faulty PCV causes that much oil usage.
Have you looked inside the plenum to see if it's filthy with oil?
