It's not going to be easy that's for sure.

I'm assuming this budget is unlimited?

The best advice I can offer is buy another car with the work already done.

An LSx with a bit of work will get you the number you desire.

10k will probably get you around 200hp, or less.

500hp is probably not even doable on a Skyline R34 GTR with 10k.

Well what's already done with your car?

Is it a stock na6?

See if you can go for a ride/drive of a well modified turbo 5, let that guide your decision process.

There is lots to read on http://www.miataturbo.net/.

if you are interested in 1/4 mile times. then do not worry about the MX5. it is made for corners. wasting in on the strip is useless.

for $10,000, you can probably double the current power.

You really need to go for a ride in a modded MX5. 200rwhp in a Mx is a farken scary ride

When a NA6 can leave a Evo 10 or a NC behind with only 100 odd ponys at the wheel what the fark would you do with that sort of stupid horsepower!!!

But if 500hp is what you want then there is a way, still a driveable NA6 with no turbo to annoy you and good fuel ecomony.

All it takes is one dyno recalibrated just for your car and then recaled after you have your bit of paper, see easy and I'll only charge you $8000, $4k to dyno calibrater

Seriously though, LS* conversion (hell, supercharge that if you're going this far) would probably be your best option. Good luck getting getting half of that figure with a B6 and only 10k.

I had thought that mx5's would be good for the strip because of there lightness?
I love my miata and don't want to get another car,I like everything about my na6 except the lack of power but if u guys say 200-300 hp is suffice then I guess I should aim for that first.

Anyone in melbourne that can help me reach that horsepower?

Where could I get a supercharged LS or even some info on the right conversion?
