I bought a pair and $ for $ I think it's unbeatable.
- Doesn't give off a ridiculously blue or super-white "sheen" but a nice, clean-looking light.
- provides lots of diffused light in the area immediately infront of the car; ie. within 5-6 metres, almost like I had weak foglights on
- when driving down an un-lit, non-residential road, I definitely noticed cat's eyes and road-side reflectors from much further away.
A month ago, they ended up a little under $20AUD delivered from the UK from Powerbulbs.com
Good reviews on the net alongside more expensive Philips X-treme Power.
That's all folks

Ooooh so close, but no cigar
That listing is for the brand-new Night Breaker Plus, the difference being having a longer service life.
I bought the superceded ones specifically from:
Night Breaker on eBay
I contacted them re a bulk order for a GB, but they never got back to me.

Osram are readily available in Au- just shop around to see what is available. Philips and Osram always had the best reputation as bulb makers.

Re: Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
Another pair of bulbs died on me again last week so I'm back on the crappy yellow bulbs temporarily.
Planning to buy 2 pairs from here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300462974023&_trksid=p2759.l1259#ht_745wt_663
Asking the seller to see whether he/she would do combined shipping.
If anyone who's based in Sydney is interested, I can order a few more pairs and you can grab them off me at the next Fish N Chips run.
It'll be around the $17AUD mark depending on currency exchange at the time of purchase.
*I've never bought anything from this seller before but he/she's quite highly rated according to eBay.
Will make the purchase by this Friday so either leave a message here or PM me ;)

Re: Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
Update - the seller has just confirmed that they would do combined shipping with a 'small' discount of 1pound per pair of bulbs.
What that means is that each pair will cost ~$19 shipped.
If anyone's interested in a pair or 2, let me know by tomorrow night

Re: Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
You can buy the bulbs in Melb and Sydney. They ( Osram ) airfreight bulbs into Au far cheaper than these small lots and in theory you should be able to buy them cheaper than mucking around with unofficial distributors. If you bulbs are failing you have a problem. Life is around 800 hours from memory.

I have the Philips X-treme Power in mine and am very happy with them.
Good light and not blue hue. So work well in wet weather as well as clear nights.

Re: Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
A bit of inside information on the oscram nightbreakers. Apparently there is a legal dispute about the name "nightbreaker" which is stopping the distribution in the Asia Pacific region. My sources tell me that hopefully the issue is hopefull going to be cleared up in the next 6 months. I will keep you all in the loop if i hear anything. Hopefully when the issue is cleared i will have access to these globes at a reasonable price. - Shady

Re: Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
Ok guys, the bulbs have arrived.
They are whiter than the standard Supercheapauto H4 bulbs but not as white/blue as the Phillips that I've had in my car before.
What I did notice is that the light is now alot brighter and it does give me a bit more distance. My main concern is with its bulb-life but I guess we'll have to wait and see about that.
Everyone who had pre-ordered would have received a PM already to organise some form of pick up.
I've still got a pair spare for $21 (pure cost) if anyone wants them. I'll just bring it along to our next FnC run / Club run / Informal trip etc etc.

Re: Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
Simply lovin' them.
Last night driving through the city, drove over a slight crest and approx 120m over the other side, there were dozens of road signs. I noticed the Night Breakers reflecting off them (so obvious) and as I was driving closer to the signs, I was watching them in my periphery and didn't notice any other cars' lights with the same reflective properties.
There was a new-ish VW Jetta and that didn't even shine as bright.
There's not many sellers selling the older ones I noticed, as they have been replaced with the Night Breaker Plus.
