MX-5 V8 Update

Postby rodsmx5 » Thu Sep 23, 2010 1:56 am

hi guys :D :D :D very happy indeed.took the v8 mx5 into a one day rally on sunday and the car was totally unreal ,so much i didnt want the day to end,,i finished 16th out of about 55 cars due to me not being lewis hamilton yet,,but the best bit of the day was when i put the race face on and really focused on driving at 100% i got a outright 1st stage result!!!!  ..the car was on very emotional kumho tyres on 15-7 rims due to emilio 949 dude!!!!argh argh.still waiting on my 15-9 rims   ...so i think this car will be a balltearer once i have some fat rubber and finally get my bloody rims,,but i love this car and cant wait for the next rally :D

As cool as your car is, do you really need a new thread every time you do something with it? Make one thread in the garage forum and everyone will be able to follow your exploits far easier.

Still stupidly awesome though. Keep up the good work.

best of luck with Emilio at 949

past experience says it may be awhile

It's all good mate. I was honestly trying to help.

Head to this sub-forum and start up a new thread there. It's the best place for it and will allow everyone else here to follow your progress far easier. Lots of people use it as a build thread to document what they've done, while others just use it just as a means of showing off.

I'm sure there are plenty of people here who are interested in what you've gone through with the car and want to see the future of it.

o.k mate  ,,no drama ,.just gets hard asking my wife how to do this stuff all the time.but i will get the hang of this...
it is good to see a mx5 at the top of a rally sheet,as we for too long put up with all the crap about hairdressers car ,gay cars etc etc

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Unlike Jeo I believe anyone that can shove a V8 into a MX5 and create a modern day Cobra can post where ever he wants.
This car is unique and makes any of those bystanders that call our cars "hairdressers cars" swallow their tongue when they hear it roar up the road. The build is awesome and now Rod is setting about getting to grips with the handling as he tackles many different types of motorsport - keep up the good work!

The car sounds EPIC! You could hear Rod pushing harder and harder by the end of the day and it really did sound just amazing. I noticed a few raised eyebrows and double takes from the blokes hanging around for their go in the V8 'supercar' experience cars which was satisfying to see!

i love this thing :)

As per Jeo's suggestion, please start a build thread in the garage sub forum so we can follow your progress. Just keep updating the one thread  8)
