Bleed your brakes on your own..

This may have been done before, but....

Get an old Master Cylinder cap(Thanks James !), one tubeless tyre valve, a 12V compressor and a bit of drilling...







Works a treat. The cap with tyre valve in it leaks air, so just crack open the bleeder with a bag or bottle attached and run the compressor for desired time (5 Secs for quick bleed), switch off the compressor and close the bleeder before the pressure drops right off so you don't get a bubble going back into the caliper.

I had to mess around with pulling the inner out of the cap to drill the holes, then reassemble.

Voila ! Don't have to get my son out of bed at 6am to bleed the brakes now, I just wake him up with the compressor.

or you can use a broom handle and wedge it in between the drivers seat and pedal when required.

True, but mine are in their 20's and don't think helping bleed the brakes with Dad is much fun anymore !

After the kids have lost interest/too old, it's time to re-enlist the GLW
If she is uncooperative, set up a dodgy day and advise the GLW she is doing the catering and clean up for the hoards.
