Great 1st run back in an MX5, really have to do something about the guard rub on the rear tyres
, so I can go a bit quicker next time.

It was a great day. Nice to catch up with everyone again and the run to Apollo Bay with Rob H was awesome. I think both Chris and Andrea deserve medals for being so brave!!!

Re: MX5 Club Vic "Sunrise on the Great Ocean Road" Run 2010
After an eight minute trip from St. Kilda, arriving just as every-one was readying to leave we followed the group along Geelong Road under cloudy skies that were opening all of the while. A beaut drive on the Great Ocean Road followed by a lovely breakfast in good company at Apollo Bay, we then continued along the Great Ocean Rd, through to Lavers Hill on to Colac, Cressy, Ballarat and home (Maldon), just in time for the rain to start (roof off all the way).
A big thank you to the organisers for the time and effort taken, we look forward to the next trip and catching up with every-one again.

It certainly was a great day.
Just as we were getting ready to leave a chap in commodore pulled up next to us, it seems he has recently bought a 2 year old NC and lives on the hill at Skenes Creek.
He said it looked very impresive to see about 60 MX5's go past this morning.
We gave him a club card and he will be looking to join soon.

Re: MX5 Club Vic "Sunrise on the Great Ocean Road" Run 2010
Thanks everyone for turning up!
We had a great drive as did most others we think. Other drivers were actually using the slow vehicle turn outs which was a bonus!
See you next year.
Any improvements we would most certainly welcome any feedback both good & bad.
We are considering a Little River BP service centre meeting point (rather than Westgate Shell) - the place where we stopped for toilet break ... this way Western Ring Roaders and others wouldn't have to backtrack to city. What do you think?

That's a great idea guys. It's got alot more room and by the time everyone gets there the sun is up which is better for photos. How good did all those MX5's parked in the two groups look.
Cheers

Thanks for leading the trip, was a great day.
I believe the Little River BP service centre would be a great meeting point for all trips heading through Geelong, for starters the toilets were open!
It also breaks to monotonous run from the City to Geelong.

Re: MX5 Club Vic "Sunrise on the Great Ocean Road" Run 2010
Thanks again Joni and Chris for organising yet another fantastic Great Ocean Road run.
It's always one of the events to look forward to on the calendar.
I rode shotgun with Rob H on the way down and then had the pleasure of jumping behind the wheel of the SP for the return journey. Thanks Rob, it felt great to be driving a 5 again, especially yours!
Then run down was, well, what can I say.... Mind blowing! Randy, don't worry about the medal mate. I'll just settle for a new set of underwear.....!
Took a few pictures, when the lack of G-forces allowed...
They can be found at the link below. They have been resized, but if anyone wants higher res images, shoot me a pm with your email and I will get them off to you.
