ECU seems to be dead - HELP

Postby Si.G » Sun Sep 12, 2010 3:32 pm

Hi Guys,

I have been in the process of wiring up my TPS for my megasquirt and things have gone a bit wrong today. The car seems to be dead. What happens...

-- turn ignition on and there is no fuel pump and the car will not start with my megasquirt or a stock NA6 ecu (ignition lights are on).

What I have done so far in terms of diagnostics...
-- I have checked all of the fuses - all okay
-- I have tested the fuel pump using a jumper across the afm terminals and that work fine.
-- Using the stock ECU and the fuel pump jumper in place, I tried starting the car and it seemed to want to go and then dies.

I have read a few other threads and it might be my EGI relay? Which relay is it and Is there any way to test this?

Is it this one?

Any help for diagnostics is appreciated.

Si.

you mention na6 - are you running stock afm? if not, have you circumvented the for fuel cutout switch which is activated if no air flow is detected? more info here:

Okay,

I have some progress - firstly I have fixed my MegaSquirt PNP, the firmware was trashed on it. The fuel pump and stuff are all working correctly now, but the engine is running on 1 cylinder, so I will have to figure that out.

I think I have had an un lucky day, my MegaSquirt firmware messed up and at the same time my plugs got so fouled that they would not fire, so the issues I thought I had were not as bad as they first seemed. Two un-related issue made me think something had gone really wrong.

All sorted now. Panic over.
