You're only saying that cause I wasn't there!? That's it Dean. Me and you are done. I'm going to make sure it rains on every track day you go to and if it doesn't I'm going to personally come over and spit on the straight until you spin out. :x

A big thanks to Brian and Michael for a well organised great day out.

Oh, and a special mention to the guy in the red NC hardtop. I didn't get a chance to catch up with you but it was a pleasure to follow you along the road into Jenolan Caves. You're a very smooth and fluent driver and easy to follow. 8)

Thanks to everyone for a great day, especially to Bryan and Michael for organising everything so well, including the regrouping and breakfast/lunch stops. The roads were fantastic and the turnout was great :)

And a few extra thanks are in order:

Thank you so much to Fiona and Paul in the NC for turning back when my car gave up on the hill at Jenolan, and thanks for sticking close by afterwards to ensure everything was okay. I really appreciate it!

Thanks to gobsmax (sorry, I have forgotten your real name!) and the other couples (in the two red NAs and the black NB, including Russian coat guy) who were great company going back home via Macquarie Pass, Stanwell and the National Park - we took some excellent photos so I will hopefully post some up soon!

And the biggest thanks of all has to go to Russ for his very generous gift of his prized spray paint can :)

Thanks again everyone, I look forward to seeing you all on the next run and to meeting those of you I haven't had the pleasure of being introduced to yet.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of today.

The weather couldn't be better, the drive was amazing and it was great to get to know a few more people from the forum.

*Next time, let's get a bit more 'generation' mix going aye?

Thank you once again to the organisers and I can't wait to see the photos!!! :NB8A: :NB8A: :NB8A:

I would like to thank Bryan for accepting an offer to lead a MX5 BreakFast Club Run :D . Bryan planned the route and did a great job on the road, at Ambermere Rose Inn for breakfast and at the Tarlaga Hotel for lunch. I know Bryan was chuffed at the turnout and with everybody’s appreciation for his effort. As a bonus Mother Nature threw in a near perfect day for his event.

A special thanks to the following:-

TO Dennnis for suggesting the Ambermere Rose Inn :) . An al fresco breakfast under a toasty morning sun looking out onto the Blue Mountains was priceless.

TO Robert for his open offer and hospitality to those who could drop past for an early freshly ground cup of premium coffee :) .

TO Alan & Kim, Alex & Cass and Rob & Erin for being good Samarians in MX-5s ,stopping and assisting Dominique with her car problems coming up from the Jenolan Caves 8) .

TO Russ for selling what is now Dominique’s car at the first indication of an engine management problems and graciously tendering a can of touch up paint as a peace offering  .

TO all who registered for the run, both Club members and those from Forum, who found the time to join us all on the MX500. The route was good, the pace was good, the weather was good but without good company it would not have been the great day that it was without you being an integral part of the event :D .

The MX500 ends the MX5 BreakFast Club program for this year. In 2011 the MX5 BreakFast Club has taken six (6) dates between April and September for runs in the Club Events Calendar. So far for next year we have allocated:-

:NA6: A sponsored BreakFast Club run with a memorial lunch for Gerard Sasso on the 8 May 2011 being organised by Alex & friends and to help raise funds for an annual Dyno Challenge and BBQ at MX5 Mania starting next Spring for Club & Forum members in Gerard’s honour.

:NA8: MX5 Brass Monkey Return Run from Mudgee in July 2011.

:NB8A: A repeat of the BreakFast Club run merged with the MX-5 friendly Iceberg Run, with Jimi’s consent, in August 2011 .

:NB8B: Bryan has suggested a reprise run of the MX500 going north in 2011 via the Putty Road, Sandy Hollow, Bylong, Rylstone to the city by the Bells Line of Road for September 2011.

I am looking for people to lead the remaining BreakFast Club runs in 2011 in lieu of yours truly. If you put your hand up, I will look after the all housekeeping and provide you with assistance and supervision to lighten your burden and arrange for the Club to obtain for you the protection of a CAMS Permit with its Public Liability and Professional Negligence cover for your back end.

Like a good novel everyone has a good run in them to share and it is not hard to lead a run that is very satisfying once it is underway. If you have a favourite run that you would like to share with likeminded people as part of the MX5 BreakFast Club calendar then send me an email to michael@spankosoulos.com and we can discuss your proposal. If you shy away from the responsibility of leading the run, then everyone would appreciate your suggestions for future reference.

Unless someone contacts me with a suitable run they wish to do under the auspices of the MX5 BreakFast Club between now and April next year then that is it for 2010. I hope all those who joined us enjoyed the events. I take this opportunity of thanking all those who participated and the Club’s committee for their support of the BreakFast Club concept in 2010 and look forward to your support in 2011.

PS. Is anyone planning another foray up the Putty Road in January 2011?

Thanks all for your kind words. It was an excellent day for me too, and I enjoyed being given the opportunity to lead a club run. Believe me, it is a rewarding site looking in your mirrors and seeing a conga-line of MX-5s stretching for a kilometre or so behind you! Did anyone do a count? I was too busy to do it myself. I'm also pleased to have been able to put something back into the club that I get so much enjoyment from.

How good is it to see such a broad range of people on a club run? Both genders well represented, from P-platers to grandparents, with all stops in between. And everyone was there to enjoy an enthusiastic drive in the country. 8)

Thanks to everyone for maintaining the gaps, and especially to those who stopped to help out Dominique 8) . With such a large group, I'm amazed that we didn't lose anyone (that we know of!), and that both venues managed to serve us in a timely manner. Both venues sincerely appreciated our custom and I hope that many of you return in future to sample more from their menus.

... and just to answer the question again: my NA6 does not have a turbo or any engine mods - she's totally stock apart from the rollbar and seat. I guess it's another example of "it doesn't matter how big it is, it's how you use it".

Lastly, my thanks to Michael for all his guidance and help with planning this run. I thought I knew a lot about doing these things, but definitely learnt some new tricks. 8)

I hope to organise another run next year, this time covering my backyard in the south coast and southern highlands. I know of a great little vineyard at Cambewarra that makes a perfect lunch spot for a large group.

Now ... I'm keen to see some more photos since I didn't take any myself. Please post them up.
