Excellent Polish: TR-3 Resin Glaze

Postby Okibi » Wed Dec 23, 2009 8:10 pm

Thanks to help from Nick I have purchased a box of TR-3, Nick has 1 bottle and the rest will be used on our fleet of cars or sold off.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

May be try contacting the distributor in Vic to ask them who stocks it in QLD, or go to your favourite autoparts store & ask them to order it, or may be even a QLD forumite with an ABN could order a box, as the distributor sells to businesses. It was about $11 per can from Dekech - I paid about $19 & I've seen it advertised on Aust ebay for about $25 plus shipping.

The distributor is: Dekech P/L 16-18 Longford Court Springvale 3171 Phone (03) 9558 4733 - I've Googled but couldn't find an email address for them.

How did the finish end up on the car?
I'm in the process of working out the shipping and costs of getting a few tins sent to Queensland.
I am going to get a a can and try it on my red NA6, i already have an interested party on the extra tin
and if anyone else is interested also please PM me and i'll see if i can sort a group buy soon!

Pete, if it helps late last year Ryan got his from Image Auto in Taylors Lakes 5/399 Melton Hwy Taylors Lakes VIC 3038 - (03) 9449 2700.

Also late last year I spoke with the importer/ distributor (Dekech P/L 16-18 Longford Court Springvale 3171 Tel: 03 9558 4733, Facs: 03 9562 4720, Email: sales at dekech dot com dot au ) & they advised they deal with some AutoBarn, Bursons, & EastCoast Auto Spares stores, amongst others. Local AutoBarn ordered some in for me, & cost $20 a can.

I note Dekech now have a website: www dot dekech dot com dot au/ & email: sales at dekech dot com dot au so maybe email for your local as they were happy to take calls for closest outlet.

Hey how much paint does this actually strip off the car? I love the results or the TR-3 but how long does it actually last for? The reason I ask is because I have a 1990 NA Mx5 that has the front half resprayed and the rear bumper done too. But everything in between ie: doors, rear quarters, boot and rear garnish plate (where plates go) looks a little dull in comparison. I've been avoiding cutting it back because I don't want it to fade out more and make the new paint look more obvious.
So yeah, I'd love the results of this stuff but curious about if it's going to fade more than it was prior to polishing (like the hardtop did after a Meguires cut and polish).
Like I said, this stuff looks amazing but how much paint off and how long last? May consider buying...
Unless someone wants to key the faded panels on my car and insurance pays for more paint...
