I actually posted this up on Miata.net a few years back - it may supplement the above, esp. the pics (some borrowed, some original):

The process is basically the same for NA and NB. Can't imagine RHD/LHD would be an issue.

the one i posted is the long bolt technique whereas yours was the san diego method. whichever is easiest for the tool bearer :D
