Soft Top Latches fixed - Very Happy

Postby emexv » Mon Aug 16, 2010 6:16 pm

My softtop latches were completely stuffed. The two parts of the latch mechanisms were not even touching. After reading about the "self tapper" repairs I thought I'd give it a go, as I can't believe what they are worth new.

It took less than half an hour from start to finish and they now work perfectly. For anyone worried about loosing their roof, but struggling with the $300+ price tag it's well worth it and anyone with the slightest mechanical aptitude could do it.

If you haven't heard of this fix let me know and I'll run you through it.
Cheers
Mark

I've got a spare set with the same problem - such a dodgy design.

I've had a couple of requests now for this information. Here is a link to the original post. The pics no longer work but I found you don't really need them.
