The pics

5am left my place on the way to sunny Gulburn, who says it rains down there, obviously we were wrong on this day. The dark clouds kept coming on over and well when i was out on the track the sky's opened up and droped these water like droplets all over the track. Made for a hard time to get my lap times down. Ill say (to make myslef happy) that my fastest 1.19.1 can be my new PB for a wet track :)

anyways some pics from the day

Start of the morning
Image

My work mates V6 STI. If you read Fast Fours mag you would have seen this in the street drag section it ran a 11.7 and got published (which he wasnt too happy about)

Lined up ready for the first session

What happens when you came off the track on cold tyres :P
Image.

another pic of the STI. It was running R888's and managed a 1.07.7 :)
Image

Im loving these gold wheels :P
Image

New sway bars made a difference
Image

One of the cars i was parred up with...a automatic monaro, running slicks and with a bogan driving it. He was rather surprised when i caught him under brakes through the kink and sitting 1m off his behind up around the top of the track...he wouldnt let me past though. That driver need some more practice :P
Image

I installed some Whiteline adjustable sway bars when i did my timing belt a few months ago, the car turns in a lot better and sits rather flat through the corners. Thanks to Lou for giving me some initial adjustments...i ended up keeping them the whole day, the car was feeling tops!
Now onto tyres, I got those wheels a month or two ago and had been looking at new tyres cause the original ones were rock hard. At first i was after some KU36, but after talking to Kumho, they were nil stock in Aust and they wernt sure when the next lot were coming in.
So the next choice was the Federal 595-RSR's, I was pretty keen on them, but came to the conclusion that this is my everyday car and these tyres will wear out rather quickly on street driving.
So a bit more research and i came across the Toyo T1R's, they were reasonably priced and after reading some reviews, people were saying that these tyres had great grip in the wet and dry, but the tyres gave the driver no feeling as to what the car was doing.
Well how wrong they were..these have to be the best tyres ive had on my car (grip wise and feeling wise) They took a bit to warm up, being a <10*C day with the wind blowing strong. But by the 2nd fast lap they were in there prime, lots of grip and no signs of getting too hot. I look forward to doing a track day where the track temps are a bit warmer and see how they handle then.

Until then, happy driving :)

last WRX hosted day the lights needed to be covered for some reason...they were a tad more relaxed this time, i put the tape on at the start of the day..and left it on there :)

Election Day

Time for some offset Froth!

a quick trip out to Liverpool and i now have a set of 20mm adapters for the MS03's....brings it to the total offset of +12 now (I Like). I just have to source some more nuts, give the eyelids a fresh coat of paint and im ready for the EOMM next weekend :). These adapters will be coming off for track work and put on for cruising :)

*STAMP*
"APPROVED"

I know people who have used spacers on the track (proper, extended lug ones like the H&R kits) however I think it's wise to remove them before track days.

Definitely a great result, Philz is secretly wishing he kept these right now :D
