The Psycho set a 1:15 today. I think his bones are made of carbon fibre

Too funny . Definitely no carbon fibre in these bones. That'd put me in the modified class!

Well got to take the new girl to Wakefield Yesterday.

Always happy for that sort of thing.



It was with a MRT Track day and was a great day out there.



Perfect track conditions, with just a slight drizzle at the end of the day.
They gave morning tea and lunch also.



Lots and lots of Mazda's off course, plus a few Wrx's etc.











The Malibu felt really tight on the track, But a prob developed towards the end of the day,
A slight misfire could be felt, under load at low rpm. About 2-3K.
Oh and either the pads of brake fluid where shot.
Really should have changed brake fluid before i went.
I think i was used to my Hawk HP pads with slotted rotors.. HAHA... First time at turn 2 at speed was a little bit of a Underpants changing experiance!!



The leads look new, but cant be sure. I will swap for a known good set tonight and if that doesnt help then will swap the coilpack out with a working one i have also.
Love having an extra MX5 floating around, to problem solve.

Her cousin Justin, also took part in the day, in his Mazda 3 SP23.



You where allowed to take a passenger out, unless of course you had a soft top
Justin took Nell out though, so she could see the track first hand.




She Loved it hahaha







There where a few hold ups during the day.
Once because someones power steering fluid went all over the top of the hill.



and then again later when one of the MAZDA 3 12 Hour Bathurst cars crashed.


All up, it was a great day.
Good to get a feel for the the new car, and no power steering was different.. A good different i think.

Plus, lil showbags of goodies from MAZDA was a plus.
When the 2 girls from MAZDA asked if we had anything we would liek to report back and ask for, I may have loudly yelled out...
" MPS MX5!!!!!!!"
they just smiled politely and moved on

My mate Liam was there in his Audi S3 too. It was his first track outing in the car. Did a 1:13.8 timed with his built-in laptimer.

Well I decided to change the timing belt,water pump etc etc on MALIBU.

Took a few days but was a great feeling to finally turn the key and have it start quietly and smoothly!
YAY TO DO IT YOURSELF!!!

I also tidied up a few things in the engine bay. Including painting the Cam cover Matt Black, which i really wasnt sure off doing. But i am actually really happy with the result.

I'll have to get some engine bay pics up.

Finally finished off the MS03's and put some brand new rubber on them.
only took me 8 months...

Well I think I finally sorted this damn low rpm stumble

Nice new Bosch O2 sensor!!




Threw it in this morning and so far stumble free.
Car also pulls from low rpm a hell of alot better than it did.


Hopefully fuel economy will come back in line also

Some nice new NGK leads have been put on also.

I also cleaned my afm with electrical cleaner made for just that.. Perhaps that was the problem??

If you haven't given that a go it might be worth it?
I can bring the last bit with me and you can have it on Sunday if you want to try?

The cans got just enough left i think.

Also drove past the concourse guys and the south coast run posse just before Berry.
