NC 2006 CD Stacker Stuck....Help

Postby MR5000 » Fri Jul 30, 2010 5:36 pm

Hi gang,
I have a 2006 MX5 with the 6 stacker system.

The problem I have is that it says CHECK CD and won't play them won't eject them won't do anything except say CHECK DC

There's 6 cd's in there and I can't get them out, What do I do..

Please help, it's doing my head in.

Have you tried pressing and holding the eject button for more than 2 seconds?

Yeah JBT I've tried holding all the buttons and pressing them together and so on..

There must be an answer out there better than take it to Mazda and get handled $$$, Thanks anyway Fatty.

you could take it to a auto audio business of which there are a number - they must see these probs very regularly. Most businesses will advise their charge rates or estimates of repair cost. If in fact there is a very simple way of expelling the cd's ( what caused it) then the charge might be nominal. Another thing you could do is remove the unit completely and present to a repairer.

I kept thinking it was a stacker (the 6 cds are inside the head unit).
Ummm, perhaps disconnect the battery and let it sit for a couple of minutes?

I am with Bruce in interrupting the power supply but remove the audio fuse and save yourself the bother of resetting everything (ABS, DSC TSCC trip meters etc). Once the power is disconnected leave it all and make some coffee before reconnecting.

God Luck.

You'll just need to reset the DSC - see the owners manual.

Hi Paul,
Have you had any joy in sorting the problem with your CD player?

Yeah I have , I was driving along Parramatta rd listening to the radio, sitting at the lights I pressed

eject CD and the 1st cd came out......Wow 5 more hits and they all came out. Cool

They were all original CD's so I don't know what the problem is..

Anyway I havn't put them back in yet , I'll give them a clean up and see how I go.

Thanks Greg and crew for all your help.
