Lots, check this out
this has just one small silencer in it. It is my car and it is just too loud, I was not aloud to run at my local motorsport venue and you are just asking to get pulled by the police.

I can guarantee you'll love the Town & Country system. If you can afford it go for the full system with stainless steel cat, if not, the cat back system will still sound great too !

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
Can't believe I'm saying this with my past history with that place but I actually heard an nb with stock muffler early yesterday at Town and Country. I dropped by after a few classes to get a quote on installing my RS-R.
Later on in the day I just so happen to be next to the same nb at an intersection (what are the odds!!!). Anyway I lingered behind with the windows down to listen to it pull off. I agree with what everyone says. It's a great sounding exhaust and you won't regret putting it on.
That said, keep in mind that the guy who works there (not going to use names) is a con-artist and will try to rip you off so be prepared to listen to his crap. I caught him out several times yesterday when I tried to bullshit me about this and that and he changed his story at one point to disagree with me. So if you don't care about money and are fine with bad customer handling skills I would definitely recommend them.
No qualms about their workmanship and I can say now after hearing it in the flesh, I know why everyone raves about them. But their customer handling was appalling. I rang up about some extractors and he gave me the quote and so on, I rang up a week later and asked him to book me in and the next thing he tells me it's going to be another $200 on top without a valid reason. I go in yesterday and ask about it out of curiosity and they say they are a waste of time and don't stock them anymore... Even though when I rang up about it ages ago, he said he had dyno charts and so on and that they were tested and all sorts of things. I needed to replace a cracked manifold at the time so I needed anything (so why not extractors!). But that's a different story.
I'm not trying to slander or give a bad name or anything. As far as I can tell they are a great exhaust shop but just take whatever they say about their 'products' with a pinch of salt.
That's just my experience.

Slander is verbal, written is libel and you probably have!
This guy has spent heaps on the worst exhaust system I have ever heard fitted to an MX from another Geelong supplier. He has obviously had a bad experience with T&C and as I wasn't here I cannot comment and he has every right to have his opinion on their service.
I and no else that I know have ever said that the T&C system is the best in the world but what has been proven is that it makes good power as evidenced by dyno figures unlike others who make claims that they cannot substantiate and almost all who have had it fitted think it sounds great.
Unfortunately there are not too many other systems that can show you the gains that they have made and while nonotech may feel agrieved it is a bit much to carry on in multiple posts about his experience.
Perhaps other customers may care to share their experience!!
Peter.
And yes i am a bit involved her as while I have no financial or other involvement with T&C it cost me heaps to get my exhaust to the stage (in co-operation with T&C) where the power gains have been made and proven.

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
I'm happy to admit defeat on this as what you've said is true.
And touche`, I guess I shouldn't be the one pointing the finger with my exhaust LOL. Though that's getting replaced next week so thank god it will be over soon...
While I'm here though, can someone dig up the dyno charts for this exhaust off the forum and post here? I've had a look for them before and no luck.
It could be useful for anyone considering this option.

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
Good luck with your new system. If the car you heard yesterday was a gold one it didn't have the T&C system, just had a crappy aftermarket rear muffler replaced with a good mild steel one ,but baffled not like the Stainless Straight through one they use.

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
Oh are you serious? Yeah it sounded ok and it was the gold one. I didn't hear it at the shop, I just heard it later that night and it did sound ok. The one I'm getting next week is an RS-R, should be different haha.

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
T&C $650 fitted
xforce 100/200 mesh stainless cat $450 (both same price)
Don't have headers there anymore for some reason. Used to stock stainless xforce extractors but told me they aren't so good on mx5's for some reason.
That's what they said when I dropped by, give them a ring and find out yourself though and they can tell you more 5223 1350

Nanotech does not seem to understand a sense of propriety nor the laws of the land. The negative remarks are not appropriate. This is a public forum.

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
Yeah well sadly I do understand customer service and this was my experience. I was not happy with how I was treated as a customer and I still think I'm entitled to that opinion. Like I've said before, you are entitled to go there yourself and I'm not trying to stop anyone but that is my customer feedback. Maybe in your world all feedback is positive but in the real world where I live things don't always lead to big smiles and I think people should be informed of that.
So don't try to tell me I'm being unrealistic. I'm aware this is a public forum which is why I said it. If a consumer is unhappy, other potential buys should be able to have the opportunity to hear a cross section of opinions not just kudos and praise you know.
So don't point the finger at me. I really like this forum and the people in it, I've met a lot great people on here and all I'm trying to do is put my INDIVIDUAL experience with a vendor into the fray and others can take what they will from it. So don't think this is me being judgmental or I get some bizarre satisfaction out of mouthing off at a business. The only thing I am satisfied with is sharing with other people and helping them as they've helped me on the forum.
This just like the Rota wheel stuff you see on other forums where people say the quality is subpar and then you have others mouthing off saying that they have no idea what they are talking about and that their opinion is negated.
So take what I said with a pinch of salt of get offended, that is entirely up to you buddy. But I do not appreciated being labeled as naive in front of others.
Don't make me into something I'm not.

Re: Stright pipe or exhaust system?
getting back to straight pipe or exhaust system.
I find its such a subjective issue.
There's me for intsance. I couldn't think of anything worse than an RS'R exhaust. But I'm a cranky old bugger. I feel they sound obnoxious. But that doesn't mean someone else can't love it. Beauty is in the eyer of the beholder.
A lot of other factors influence the final sound of the exhaust you choose. Lets take Broady for example. He loves his RS'R but he has a silencer or something else fitted to it. I have to admit I have not heard it yet but I'm courious.
When choosing an exhaust even the pros don't nececaryly get it right either without hearing it first. Look at the history of the NA6. They tested 150 different exhaust's to get the final set up ( or was it 300?)
And when you do hear an exhsaust tone in a particular car you like, this does not mean that your car will sound the same or similar because the egine set up influences the final tone.
On Patchy I've had quite a number of different set ups. from being obnoxiosly loud on the verge of being rude. To a lot more tame in its current set up.
Cams can make a huge differnce. Removal of the AFM in will make it noisier when you aproach someone, as well as in the cabin. & if you have the cams advanced, although it may not sound that noisy, But I had coppers hearing me a mile away....even just cruising & eventually copped a defect for noise.
Patchy is still noisy but a lot more tame now. She does still sound OK on idle but nowhere near as aggro as she used to. But therefore a lot more suttle when she's hammering. How does she sound? OK to me....but thats open to opinion.
so my point?
learn from someon who's done it? Or be prepared to spend some money getting it to what you want.
But taking into consideration what you require. N/A set up. forced. Defect material.
