After leaving my keys in the boot recently, I've at last got round to finding a hiding place for the spare key and remote. Before putting them in place I thought it might be worth checking they work ..............
The spare remote does indeed do everything it should, including disarming the alarm.
The spare key works the ignition, starts the car, locks and unlocks the passenger door, and fits in the driver's door lock.
But it won't turn either way in the driver's door lock. On very close inspection it looks the same, and even looks like an original Mazda one.
This is not the end of the world, as I'll be able to get into the car, disarm the alarm, and drive it, but does anyone know what's going on here?

Re: Spare key doesn't work driver's door
My guess the cut is out by a poofteenth or the key/lock is worn.
Try the drivers lock, insert it fully then pull it out a whisker and rotate to see if it works.
Next option is to see if a re-cut will fix it.
