Hope this is right section to post topic.
Im wanting to make my engine/engine bay all clean and shiny. I particularly want to make the top of the engine (i dont know what its called) have the chrome look. Ive seen plenty of pictures of the kind of thing im after but im having trouble finding a place that does this sort of thing. For those of you out there who have had it done, where/how did you get it done?(im in vic)
I pretty much want mine looking like this....
I assume you can also buy these coloured hose sets aswell.

...couldn't you just get the same effect with some Ajax and an old toothbrush? As for the coloured hoses, then I would recommend using some good quality texta-colours.

The Forum sponsor MX5 Mania sell the polished egine parts and the blue silicone hose kits, the link to them is at the bottom of the page.

This is the way to go.
Get it done by a pro, like the ones that Mania sell, as doing it yourself is a very long, and dirty job and it may end up taking you days to do it well.
Not only that, but to do a good job, you need to take off the cam cover and the inlet air box, which means your car will be off the road while you are struggling to polish it.
These are polished, and not chrome plated, so after you put them in, you will need to keep them clean and bright, otherwise they will just go dull again.
If you aren't into continual cleaning of the engine bay, might I also suggest getting the cam cover painted in a nice crackle finish paint of your desired colour.
That won't need as much upkeep to stay good looking.
