looks like a mazspeed one or the other brand whose name escapes me.

part of it goes on the parcel shelf. The other behind the seats on the floor.

Plenty of discussion regards this rollbar. So much, even I know how to mount it. The back arms have to go through the parcel shelf (cut some holes or remove panels).
It is logical. You make it fit.

This looks like an item that was listed on eBay a little while ago?...

I recall the description saying that it's not a standard/popular boll bar and will need you to drill holes into uncommon places...

Yeah I didn't pull it off ebay. Found this thread: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=38881&p=516425&hilit=mazdaspeed+rollbar+install#p516425

But it isn't the same bar. Have the panels on the parcel shelf out, sits flat on the floor but the rear diagonals still float.

There are plates on the bottom on the rear diagonals, but to think that you mount those plates on the deck and suspend the rollbar but long bolts is surely madness, yes?

If you are still having trouble with this, let me know and I can probably help. I have the same cage in a 6 point version in the shed, and can take a few photos in various stages of assembly if required.
