Cleaning engine bay

Hi all

Just wondering how people clean there engine bay.

Today I just got rags n soapy water n wiped it down. Just want to know what other people do.

Degreaser/pressure hose ect

I take it to a guy in Lane Cove, and for $35.00 he cleans it with a pressure cleaner and some chemicals, and does a good job too.
Only takes about 15 minutes and I can have a cup of coffee while he does it.

cover the Spark plug holes, otherwise make sure you have an air hose handy to blow the water out....

It's a car wash place, in a servo on the corner of Centennial and Mowbray Rds (I think).
He does a good wash too, but he is a little slow, but everything is done by hand.

thanks for that, i did not want to hose off degreaser and oil down the drain, so i will visit them soon...

I usually just use a stiff brush and a water pressure pack. Plus a rag for the big sections. I only use degreaser if something has gone wrong. Most of the muck I get is from Wakefield though :mrgreen:

Takes a while but generally worth it. Funny the things you can find early with a good detailed clean.

truckwash mixed in a spary bottle with water...about 50/50 just to allow it to be sprayed

spray it everywhere, let it sit for 5-10 mins, start up the car and start hosing.

lots of people witnessed it at the last dodgey day and can back me up on how good it works

all of the above and Prepsol and a cloth works wonders and is cheap.

What for specifically? Just to have the warmth so the water evaporates off without leaving those water droplet marks?

Regie's method works wonders.

My car's engine bay hadn't been cleaned in years, and 5 mintues with Regie and it looked great. I really should have taken before and after shots.
