Brand new there are a few size options.... whats the best to get a "hella flush" fitment.

which rim size and tyre size has someone acheived this look with?

i am expecting to need to roll the guards... but dont want anything too extreme......

something equivalent to x8 +20 will sit flush on the outside, I believe...

so, approximately...

x9.0 +33
x8.5 +26
x8.0 +20
x7.5 +14
x7.0 +7
x6.5 +0
x6.0 -5

in that pic, they look like 15s.

yeah i want to go with 15's

anyone have any pics of MX5's sporting some 15x8 +20?

dont have to be the equips... just an idea of size and offset

*edit* i will take the time to go through the 30 odd pages of NA rim pics when i get home tonight.

just if someone has the effort to save me the time would be nice :)

Check out:
http://www.clubroadster.net/vb_forum/sh ... hp?t=25080

and do a search on http://www.rimtuck.com/

Remember, you can use maths to see how the wheel will clear on the outside (i.e. guard)

An extra inch of width on the rim will mean the wheel sits 25.4/2 = 12.7mm further out.

That red car runs 14's at the front and 15's in the rear.

I would go either 15's all round

something like 15x8 +10, O disk

Also note: choosing between A disk and O disk will vary the amount of dish.

Is this for NA6 or 8?

15x8 +10 in O disk doesnt exist, only in A disk.

But 15x8 +20 or 15x8 +7 in O disk does.

All of the above will look good, I think x8 +7 is a bit of a stretch, you'll need to pull guards and/or have a lot of camber to get them to fit.

But it will be "hella flush" (not flush)

15x8 +20 for the front is a very good fitment sits flush with the front guards.
15x8 +20 for the rear is good too, but if you after stance look then you need something like 0 or +15 offset

i am starting with a blank canvas.

my BMW is for sale.... and when that goes its time to move on the MX.

so i cant be sure if its NA6 or NA8 yet.

just trying to get a virtual build for the car before i dive in..... as i am trying to keep costs low.

hoping to get away with just a few mods....

Garage Vary lip (black)
Coilovers (for lowness)
Rims & Tyres
Exhaust

so just trying to guage whats gonig to be what.
another thing to figure is 14" or 15"...... as i cant be super low because of my driveway (plus dont really want to be illegally low)

Sounds like you actually want hella flush. If so, go for a bit more poke than x8 +20

Equivalent of x8 +0 rear x8 +20 front with a lot of low should do nicely.

For budget coilovers that are supposed to be decent, check out the BC coilovers. About $1100.

so GV lip ~= $350-$450
coilovers ~= $1000-$1200
rims & tyres... who knows. sounds like you're onto it already
exhaust... depends what you want. custom exhaust would be about $300-$500. something jap, probably look at $400-$1000

Ultimately it comes down to how low you are and your tyre choice.

But 15x8 +20 or 15x8 +7 in O disk does.

In this case... go for A disk, because the amount of dish in the same, but if you stretch a 195/50 it would look better with the +10.

its going to be a daily, so nothign stupidly flush that scrubs or i need rock hard suspension so it doesnt rub

stretch doesnt really interst me.

1 its not as safe (and the tyres are the only thing holding you to the road)
2 why get wider rims, if your not going to get wider tyres for better grip?

if someone buys this:
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=8795323&keywords=bmw%20parrot%20325&tsrc=allcarhome&__Ntk=CarAll&__Nne=15&__Dx=mode%20matchany&__D=bmw%20parrot%20325&silo=1011&seot=1&__sid=1280144079E6&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Qpb=true&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Cr=12&__Ntt=bmw%20parrot%20325&trecs=22

then i can be on my way to MX5.

It doesn't interest me either, but i thought we were talking about "hellaflush" fitment.

But because it sounds like you just want a nice stance.

Go for 14x7 + something.

Yeah... will have to toss up the 14/15 inch when i do a few more hours picture research :) (its half the fun of buying a new car)

I had 15x8 +10 A on front +7 O on rear.

with 195/50/15 and -2 camber zero rubbing.
