Most seem really happy with that setup.

Really keen on these FM/FCM bumpstops. Makes complete sense to use these. As opposed to just cutting the standard bumpstops.

Koni + kings is very common and should work well, but couple of things to consider.
The springs are shorter than stock so you'll have less travel, so you might want to consider getting the FM or FCM top hats for the rear.
The FCM bump-stops are definitely the way to go. The standard ones will be shot and from thousands of accounts aren't in the same league as the FCM bump-stops.

I don't think Konis and Kings will compare to some well set up billies.

Remember you can get them valved to your specification. Get Heasemans to recommend you appropriate springs and off you go. Probably Eibach springs or something would do nicely.

I spoke to Heasemans and they quoted $1400 to revalve them... NOT A CHANCE

I have asked around, as i was hoping that it would just be a case of getting different springs, but most have informed me that it may help a little, but the Bilsteins are horribly valved, with too much rebound etc.
Would love to run the Billies but not if i am just going to throw money into still having a horrible ride. :|

Yes, but I don't think you should be comparing a cheap Koni/King setup to Bilsteins valved to your individual specs.

$1400 is a *little* steep but they'll be set up EXACTLY how you want/need them.

You wouldn't have a horrible ride if you tell Heasemans exactly what you want...

I can guarantee you the ride quality on Koni/King combo is nothing spectacular, even my Tein SS are monumentally better than the Koni/King...

Did you ask Heasmans how much it would cost if you took the shocks out and put them back in?
I would imagine that their price included all labour, and a 4 wheel aligment too.

What you would end up with is virtually brand new Bilstiens with not only a good ride, but great handling too.

Your right Benny!! 8)
Thanks for getting me to check that.

$440 per pair.
So that comes to $880.

SOO Very much better.

May have to drop in there and ask them what they would reccommend.
I do not expect a cloud of a ride, Just the crashing around currently is crazy.

I will be getting Swaybars at some point soon too. So i am guessing i should inform them of my plans and hopefully they can reccommend suitable springs and valving to have a comfortable ride but i do not want to lose out on weekend track day handling.

Thanks again all!!

Found this oldish thread...

The cost you were quoted is still too much. I was quoted a general price of $125ea to revalve Bilsteins (plus I would need to pay shipping). For reference, Bilstein in the US will do it for $65 ea, and you can get track shops to do it for under that. It would be good if there was an alternative here, but I believe Heasman's is still the only place for Bilstein revalves (would love to be proven wrong!).

I had a set of shocks sent out from the US. Transport cost was around $330!!!

And if you think revalving of Billies is dear, wait till you get a price to revalve and rebuild a set of Teins!!

Two different sources quoted me around that range. I rang Bilstein Western Australia who directly quoted me that price (I would have also had to pay for shipping to Sydney and back though), and Jono from nissansilvia.com, who works for Bilstein. In that case I was enquiring about getting a PSS9 set for an S13, and they are only valved for 4kg rear springs stock, so it would have needed revalving as I was planning to run 7kg rears.
