My hot air intake is in
Need to rig up an airbox with cold air ducting and some heat shielding cause it pretty much sits right next to the headers.
Also - have all the brake stuff ready for a dodgy day (probably tomorrow)
Front
QFM A1RM pads
Brembo slotted rotor
Rear
QFM A1RM pads
RDA solid rotor
Fluid
TRW GP600 Dot 4 fluid - (dry/wet - 310/204 deg)

Circuit Club - Queen's Birthday Track Day @ Wakefield

Wow... what a day. So happy I went! (as with every track day I've been to...)
It was a very frosty morning, apparently the temperature on the way down hit -6. However, by the time I got out on the track the conditions were great.
Managed to get six sessions in, each with about 8 laps. Pretty awesome track time! Three of the six sessions were timed by an IR lap timer, full results are up on Natsoft.
First timed session went very well, I immediately shaved about a second and a half off my PB with a 1:18.4
The second session got red flagged - someone broke their NA6
I didn't think I really managed a good clean lap:
Third session I followed mitch_f1 out - who was great to follow! We had an epic battle. Bit interesting trying to keep up with him on semis with me on my considerably less grippy RE001s! (although I did notice his Dunlop semis had sh*t all grip when cold...) I kinda kept up with him until I spun out.
So I ended up with a 1:17.0 by the end of the day. Which I'm very happy with - it's almost three seconds off my previous PB. And a whopping seven seconds off my previous "timed" session with the MX5 club back in December.
In between the timed sessions there were passenger sessions, I got some awesome advice from Matt (CoffeeBoss) and Ben, summarised as:
Here's the video of my best lap. There's still lots of time to be found I think...! Need to follow the above advice more carefully
And three laps after my PB lap...

need to use the whole track
be wider on T2, get all the way over to the left. hit the apex, get on the throttle
dab of the brakes on the way into T5 and get on throttle earlier
late apex T10 - turn in later
HIT APEXES.... -_-
slow in fast out!
turn in under light brakes to keep the weight & grip on the front. lift off the brakes smoothly
Here's the video of my best lap. There's still lots of time to be found I think...! Need to follow the above advice more carefully

And three laps after my PB lap...

Re: Broady's Montego "I can't believe it's not green" Blue N
good work!
turn 10 yeah you can go much later. brake past the 100m sign and its a late turn in and just clip the very end of the ripple!
unsure if its the tyres, however you could get on the gas more earlier with some corners - however I havent dríven wakie on street tyres yet so I dont know!
time for semi's and you'll drop another second or two for sure!
top work again!
awesome feeling smashing your PB!

That's an awesome time! Congrats!
The times are very consistent too, which shows you've certainly got the hang of it, and bound to get faster the next time you're out.
Might have to follow you around the next time we're out an wakie

I think youre right, I can get on the power earlier on a lot of corners, but I think to do that I need to work on proper entry.
Semis... hmmm maybe. Bit of a huge upfront outlay and I'd need another set of rims

hmmm yeah need to work more on consistency, I was sliding all over the place making mistakes... I was pushing harder than ever before, maybe need to go one step backwards, two steps forward

More video of my third timed session, chasing Mitch, catching up to the other Mitch. Twas epic till I spun out!
Now that this full video is up, any advice from the experts?
