Check all ignition connections and fuses. Ask a moderator to move this thread to "Engines, Transmissions & Final Drive".

Yeah sounds like a coil might be dead, if in doubt swap the coils over and test again.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

There are 2 coils in the coilpack, running under the waste spark method. Driver's side coil fires 1 and 4 simultaneously, passenger side coil fires 2 and 3. So if a coil has gone you'd expect one pair of cylinders to fail, not half of each pair.
If spark is there but weak or varying between cylinders then I'd be checking HT leads and connections first, including polishing down inside the HT plugholes in the coils. In NA8s (93-97 models) there's a chance of damage from rainwater in there.
