NC Brake Pad Change

Bought some Carbotech pads for the NC and put the fronts in, but having trouble with rears.
Unlike the NA, the NC does not have the adjusting screw to retract the rear piston, and it would not move under pressure.
As the pads are only about 1/2 worn, I left them in for the time being.
Can some one let me know the trick to retracting the rear piston please ???

You have to screw the piston in. The face of the piston has grooves to accept a special tool but a blade of some sort should do it. See this thread: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=314487&highlight=brake+pad+replacement

Nearly got in before JBT

Only thing I would add is to gently clean and loosen the dust boot from the piston, then add a little rubber grease so it slides easily as you rotate the piston.

I made a simple tool from a piece of angle iron to rotate the piston.

will add when fitting new pads make the cross in piston vertical as there is a point on the pad that sits in to

I read something about screwing in the piston, but I think it was it was on a Mazda 3.
Will get the job done in the next week or so.

Alls well with the rear pads.
The pistons screwed in without any trouble at all so the new pads are now fitted.

I'm about to change the rear pads on my NC series 2.

I notice that the page from the manual posted by JBT above says that you have to remove the handbrake cable, but there is no indication of how to do this.

Can anybody confirm that this is necessary, and if so, what is involved in disconnecting and reconnecting it?
