Anyone know where I could get a plastic or nylon lined socket? Trying to do up my new 949 racing lug nuts without scratching them from the metal socket is a real PITA.
Tried all the standard auto stores - none have em
cheers

Source an impact socket, they only have the six sides and are recessed over the ends of each face, as opposed to a standard socket which has the 12 notches. A correctly sized socket should fit the nut like a glove. Someone like supa nasty should stock them, usually in sets) or go to a dedicated shop like Glenfords and get the one you need, mine cost ~$17 for the deep socket.
Here's a pitcha
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Re: lug nut socket
If you can't find a nylon covered one, get a thin walled deep socket instead. I was having the same problem with my Enkeis and the thin walled deep socket fixed that. I got a Sidchome one from Auto 1 that cost $20.

Re: lug nut socket
I have some masking tape around the socket I use to check the wheel nuts.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
