Opinions needed: Coilovers.
just looking at BC's I notice there are 2 types. The V1 and the BR.
any reason to pay $100 more for the BR series? I notice Mania only list the V1's??

The BR have a few extra track orientated features such as a slightly larger diameter housing, however spring rates remain the same. It's weird as the BC website doesn't have any mention of the V1, only the BR and above models.

I read from a few user reviews that the BR's had improved valving. It might have been on miata.net.

if you import them, remember to allow for customs duty plus gst if their total value is over $1000. I got stung bigtime a couple of years ago.

I wonder if production of the V1 has ended and they are only doing BR's now??
I will be looking to snag some in the next month or so. Anyone looking for some would do well to wait until I make the purchase cos anything I buy is usually on special the week after

They no longer produce the V1 series. The BR series superceded the V1. They make three kits now; BR, ER (external reservoir) and RM (inverted).

I've no affiliation with the following, just a passing on some information that might be of use to those reading this thread.
At the last Supersprint round, a bloke from Suspension Technology Australia was doing the round handing out brochures. Apparently they are based in Yass and supply JRZ high performance dampers. They are available in four different set-ups:
1) Single adjustable: rebound only
2) Double adjustable: rebound and compression, independently
3) Triple adjustable: rebound, high speed blow off compression, low speed compression bleed
4) Quadruple adjustable: high speed rebound blow off, low speed rebound bleed, high speed blow off compression, low speed compression bleed
The bloke also is available to help out with tuning the dampers to suit track conditions, teaching you how to do it yourself. He charges (from memory) $800 for a full day at the track, and this can be split amongst several people to keep the individual costs down. Sounds like an excellent service.

The fact is that you do not need to find a compromise for your purposes and our roads. Some WA members have been doing just this for over 20 years.
So here is my humble opinion from an earlier thread:

I cant find any info on the brand so Im hesitant but if Mania are saying they are the go and will stand by the product, Im might be tempted to be the guinea pig

I contacted Yellow Speed Racing since finding the Mania ebay listing.
I should have shock dyno graphs from Yellow Speed Racing for their NA and NB kit within a few days, which I will then post in a new thread for discussion.

Any one purchased the "Raceland" adjustable coil units from Germany?
I just got a set for my NA (Daily Driver). I do longer country mileage to work (54 k each way and two sets of traffic lights). I do have some very much fun curvy sections on the trip.
Cost shipped to Melb was a little under $400, so at $100 per corner seems too good to be true.
My Thoughts: Even if they turn out to be crap, they can't be much worse than the original units that most likely have done 180,000k and never been touched.

Considering what they cost i've heard pretty reasonable things about the ricelands.
They're definitely not made in Germany though, and if you read the warranty carefully they claim to be for track use only.
My research tells me that $200-$400 is the freight price range on 4 shocks/coilovers from the US.
I'm not in any hurry to purchase something, so i'm going to wait until there have been user reviews of the FM Vmaxx.
They seem like the most cost-effective and reasonable quality, no fuss solution available.
