Dynamat is a soundproofing product (just do a web search) made in the States but available around the Globe. It is a very dense material with one side covered in a strong adhesive. So, I just stuck two layers together with the glued surfaces already prepared.
The fit over the larger diameter of the AEM filter is good enough to support the thing against the AEM heat shield. To get a good fit, I just added a strip of Dynamat inside the shield to suit. There is nothing attached to the heat shield; the whole thing just slides on/off. Cutting the end to match the angle of the heat shield to the end of the filter helps too.
