Radiators on ebay

Hey all,

Quality?
Fans easy to fit - clip in?
What kind of use does your car get

No I dont have that setup

but I do have an ASI radiator in my daily driver. fit was perfect, trader was helpful.

Any reason why you would need 52mm and twin fans? not saying it is or isnt overkill, but then Im in tassie and am about to need some kind of cooling duct block to get some heat into my cooling system

Where did you get ASI, and how much did you pay?

No reason, just thought, hey too much cooling can't really be such a bad thing. Plus the whole twin fan thing looks like a pretty good setup.

EDIT: just realised the seller is ASI....idiot

and I also believe you can have too much cooling. You certainly want it to reach optimum operating temperature. Depends on what you are doing with it I guess. People still race with the standard spec radiator.

Fair call. I guess that is quite a bit cheaper as well..hmm, thanks for that

I wonder if anyone has gone from a 42mm to a 52mm; is there much of a difference in cooling performance, and is there a trade off in taking longer to warm up.

I have the 42mm ASI one in mine. Everything lined up fine and installation was nice and easy, apart from my aftermarket intake not fitting. If you've got another cross pipe I'd check your clearances before going bigger.

hmm, fair call; I have the ARC chamber, which is quite large. Do you have slim fans, or stock fans??

I am on my second 52mm ASI rad, the first one lasted about 4 months then blew a core. They replaced it under their 12month warranty, and I have had no problems with thes second one. been in there about 14months now.

Dragging up an old thread.
My top tank went on the Na6 this arvo.
ASI sent an out of office reply stating they are on a Chinese holiday.
So...I guess I wait.
Any other feedback about ASI would be appreciated before I commit. :mrgreen:

I bought mine for $175, fantastic quality. Even my mechanic was amazed and shocked when i told him it was $175. I bought mine from a local ebay seller down in melbourne though. the welds are fantastic and of quality and so far I have had zero problems

read what greencomet said- you buy cheap stuff and that's what you get. A good quality unit will last +10yrs easy.

I'm also reading what the others say...and they seem pretty happy. That said, greencomet appears to be satisfied with the replacement unit.

High price doesn't always mean good quality and as spikes comment shows, cheap doesn't necessarily mean poor quality.

Im just past 18 months with my 42mm ASI. Still as good as the day it went in. I did have it out when I did a timing belt and there were no signs of poor workmanship causing undue wear and tear.
