NFS13B - Pro drag MX5

Postby nfs13b » Mon May 17, 2010 3:57 pm

Hey All,

thought I would post up some pictures of my latest drag car in the build....

Its being built to run the 1/4 mile in 7 seconds, and aiming to be the fastest mx5 body in the world...

It is a half chassis with a 13b turbo engine in it. Has 32in x 14inch wheels.

Here are some pics..

What do people think?

I thinking of painting it purple, like the commodore morpheus purple....

The old car was running 29x11 tyres on a 12inch wide rim.

hmm, it looks like your back wheels are a bit wider than stockies...

it would be a lot of fun if you can road register it  regardless it is a serious piece of engineering..

what sort of mph are you hoping for here - 165 plus?

must say that its looking good thus far but a long way to go.

what fuel do you run these on - methanol?

I reckon the existing blue looks good, sprinkled with some carbon fibre.

Looking very tough, now you need c.f. doors, guards, bumpers, boot, headlights, roof and g.v front lip.
I was just thinking with the rear of the roof - i could make the window opening smaller, (add 6" around the window when it is being made) so you can cut around the tubs without going into the window. I will start on the NB parts in about 2-3 weeks. :D

Looking for around 180mph.... It needs to be fully finished, tested and ready for racing at the end of August... Yep runs on methanol with 12 x 1600cc injectors

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
