It's probably for the better but I'm sure that makes it really annoying as just a random act of vandalism. :( People suck.

There are some real dead beats in the world :x

If you have the leather doctor/ vinyl Doctor in Sydney they mat be able to help. They could put a patch on the inside and invisible mend it on the outside maybe :|

They repaired a leather lounge for me a few years back and were brilliant .

appreciate you don't want to be spending $600 on excess, but might be worth asking your insurer if they would allow you to replace your soft-top with a hardtop, so it doesn't happen again. Something in it for them, i.e. no more soft-top claims, & something in it for you. Unfortunately, still going to cost you $600 though, & for that you can get a new soft-top. MX5CHIC recommended some marine grade material for a fix if you decide to go that route:

Wow Alan,

Charming people out there?! Sorry to hear about it mate, not much you can do aboot it though.

Hardtop might be the way to go, I feel comfortable with my hardtop whenever I park it on the street knowing some knob (or multiple knobs) cant do stuff like that to the car.

Hope you get it sorted out.

See you tonight.
