Along with the ocky straps, I keep a big garbage bag in the boot to put the wheel in.
I haven't tried it with a wheel, but a 16 inch tyre/case fits in the boot of a NB with a little force.
If the tyre is flat, will the wheel fit in the boot?

Yes but you have to squish it a fair bit
Supreme Blue NB8B, 1:16.98 at Wakefield when stock, but it's not stock any more...
