Whoa! Too much acid rain man.

Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Hi Terry,
I've looked at this thread a couple times and i've gotta say how happy I am to see that Scooter's been restored back into such a fantastic car, if not better!!
The read is very enthralling and it is absolutely fascinating to see how far Scooter has come, and very heart warming to know that he's gone to such a pure and dedicated MX5 enthusiast.
I hope Scooter will continue to bring you much enjoyment and some seriously quick laptimes in the near future 8)

cheers, Doug

Hey Doug,
Thanks for the kind words and yes Scooter is bringing me so much FUN!!!!
I'm bloody lucky that Rick allowed us to purchase Scooter, with the explicit instructions that he Must be raced, very happy to oblige.
We will be doing ALL the 1 hour rounds this year, E/C, Winton, Morgan Park and Phillip Island, plus the Nationals at Scooters home,Wakefield.
So hopefully we will see you and Rick at one of the Vic rounds 8) 8)
I'll talk to Mrs L to see if we can get Slammer out to E/C in May, would be good if we can, or maybe the Nationals or both??
The seriously lap times will probably come next year as I'm still a learner to driving this car and don't really need big HP this year. But we'll see what happens
I'll do some more photos next week after fitting a few new bits to the toy.

Hi All,
Well spent the last few free days just doing all the things one must do to keep on top of everything, oils, filter, gearshift boot, pads front and rear and full bleed, fitting my birthday pressy and then taking the car down for its CAMS check ready for log booking.

Everything has gone as per plan ready for Geoff to get used to Scooter on the 3rd at the MX5 trackday. As for kicking ass, yer right, it a bloody 1600, still I think we'll go ok.

Stopped for a cuppa on the way to the scrutineer's place and a bunch of young blokes came up and asked about what Scooter was all about? what sort of racing? tarmac rally or circuit and how do I get involved etc, even "surely you don't race this, it's in such good condition!!" Thats when I explained that other than being an absolute PIA about any race cars appearance, that there is no way I'm going to take short cuts in anything I do especially when both my life and others sharing the car and track rely on me doing MY job properly. This seemed to interest them even more, so I invited them to come out to Lakeside on the 3rd and have a gander. And the best part was they all knew how well MX5's go about their job :D :D
So just a few photos for Cams and you lot

And no they are not my wheelie marks ( can do better 8) 8) )

Certainly does Paul, but does it make it bloody hard to get the bloody jack out.

Still it's legal and hopefully I won't make anymore marks on it (gotta watch out for those concrete strips at Woolies)

Thanks for organising the buy too!!! :D :D

Don't worry mate, I had my car up on car ramps to fit mine, and then when I went to back the car down the ramps, I put a couple of small scratches on the underside of the newly fitted lip

I use a couple of 250mm square pavers to put the front wheels up onto first. The pavers are about an inch thick, so it gives just that bit of extra clearance, and the car gets up onto them without any trouble. I then either butt the ramps up to those or slide the jack in under.
Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever.

Spotted you this morning Terry at the intersection near BCF. My workmates spotted you first and were pointing you out to me but didn't realise who it was till i saw the name down the side. However the car looks in pretty good shape and looks much better in person than in the photos. Love the Scooter Decal. Perfect!

That would have been me this morning doing a u-turn at BCF to get some dinosaur juice from Caltex... 8)

Took the beast down to Link International and Sugarless Company to get some stickers.

Here's a sneak peak...
