First few pages of the thread will show it doing its best "pheonixing"

besides all real MX-5s are Blue
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Hi Jace, I haven't 100% decided on a colour scheme for the car. However it will involve Winning Blue and Sunlight Silver.

Cheers,
Danny

Yes, far, far too long....no tangible progress to report till now. :D

Remember this item?

Well here is the finished item.

With the oil pressure and oil temperature senders installed.

....and fitted onto the engine.

Next step is to get the oil lines between the engine and supercharger drive made up. Even though time on the car has been extremely limited over the past three months, I have made key decisions and acquired more parts.

Cheers,
Danny

It's not so much the kids as it is work which has kept me rather occupied!

Renesis NC Track Car - In the Build - Updated 7 March 2010

Postby orx626 » Sat Apr 17, 2010 9:48 pm

Once again I haven't been able to find any time to do anything directly on the car since last December. :(

However, additional to the supercharger I purchased for the NC I also put my hand up for one of the "Hymee Enhanced" production kits for my own daily dríven RX-8. Due to the fact that I'm local to Performance Design Australia (http://www.performancedesign.com.au/) and a pretty keen Mazda rotary enthusiest, I offered my assistance (product development) to finalise the RX-8 supercharger kit's "bill of materials" and installation media whilst undertaking the installation of my unit. As of last night, the kit installation has been completed with no oil or water leaks, and with just a dyno tune to go.

Here's some piccies of the kit installed 8)

....and a short vid....

The items that are transferable to the NC are as follows:

(1) Oil Take-off Block (as previously shown)

Image

(2) Supercharger Oil Supply Line - Just different length - refer above piccie....it's the stainless steel braided line

(3) Remote mounted engine oil filter and lines

(4) Vacuum/Boost Lines (Schematic - not shown)

I've continued to acquire other parts and components over the past few months that I'll refer to as they make their way onto the car.

I'm really looking forward to getting a taste (and some driving experience) of the performance that a screw type supercharger can deliver when coupled to a high revving rotary engine in a superb handling chassis (especially one that will be over 300kg lighter and up to 60 hp more).

Cheers,
Danny

ps. Hopefully the next installment won't be too far away.

Danny ...you are a power junkie  that looks awesome, I imagine that after all the "tinkering" you have done and are doing on your other Mazda's that the CX9 must feel a bit ordinary in comparison :?: or is there some "Tinkering to be done to that when it comes out of warranty :D

Cheers

haha Dale....I'm more of a Torque junkie! I love the torque profile of a positive displacement blower!

Nah the CX-9 is safe from my clutches for at least another couple of years...but an exhaust would be nice.

Danny

That it has...

However! I've spent the past 10 months finding and building a new home for the car  .

The new year should yield me some time to get the build back on track.
