Bilstein B8's on NC

Can anyone see a downside to getting Bilstein B8's installed to an existing Eibach pro Kit on an NC?

I'm told it will firm the car up maybe 15%-20% ....... but the handling will be much improved and comfort not unduly sacrificed. Also that the Eibach should marry up well with the B8's. So I'm expecting good things, just wondered if anyone has experience to shatter this illusion?

Soft top but it wouldn't matter.
Be aware that I got a 15mm drop just changing from std Bilsteins to the Tokico on std springs.

But I think it does matter, that's the problem. The PRHT roof when folded can cause bump issues. A PRHT-specific Eibach pro-kit was developed AFTER I bought my general one. That's why I have to be careful.

Just wind up the shock a half turn.
I soften mine 1.5 turns for every day and wind em harder .5 turns with a boot full touring.

BTW I installed Fatcat bump stops at the same time and rarely feel a bottoming out even on roughest roads.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Eibach hardtop spring just slightly longer because the weight of the HT had the rear lower with the softtop spring.

Not sure, but there must be some difference. I wasn't aware shocks could be 'adjusted' in a winding sense.

The Tokico HTS shocks are damper adjustable, that's what Sailor is talking about when he says he winds them up. ie increases the damping effect.

Does Heasman's carry the B8 to fit an NC?
Their web site doesn't indicate it's availability for the NC.

Johnathon felt they were too firm for Oz roads with the Eibach.
IIRC the shocks were about $1000 and ~ $130/pr to rerate.
That's the reason I went to the Tokico at ~$630 landed including adjuster cables from Shox.

hmm. I spoke to Tony and he gave me the impression they would be fine on our roads. Makes it bloody hard.

To be honest I'd be more than happy with the Tokico HTS, but the fitment (height) worries me. On this; Sailor, i thought your car dropped 50mm and you had to take the Tokico's off? or did something later happen??

My car dropped 50mm when I fitted the Tokico and Eibach Pro.
Went back to std springs and Tokico and got a 15mm drop in our LE which when measured against a normal NC was 20mm.
Apparently the springs were not the right ones but having said that Paul got a drop of about 40mm I believe with just the Eibach Pro springs.
I really haven't looked into it further as I'm more than happy with the std spring, Tokico and heavier f&r bars.

Remember the Tokico is not repairable, the Bilstein B8 is so that IS an advantage.

Yeah it is bloody hard...So hard in fact that when I change next time I'll probably break the bank and fit a set of Ohlin DFV.
The Tokicos were a stop gap as I was not at all happy with the rear end behaviour on the std Bilstein (different to the B8) and needed to do something fast..
To be honest, IF i was spending $1000- $1200 on the B8...Id probably bite the bullet and go to the Bilstein PSS10 from Shox.com for ~ $2000.

Another alternative would be the Fatcat Bilstein, revalved and fitted with an adjustable spring base for little more than you'll pay for the Bilstein shock here, AND you can adjust height to suit your car with your spring. I very nearly took this path.

I had a price for ~ $2300 landed with paperwork to meet duty requirements.
I wouldn't be buying here.
