Yeeaaaa.... it kinda broke its motor..

This one was half my fault, bit of crap in the bearings when i built it i think.

But also a few things already screwed like the bores worn, and the timing idler pulleys sound like they have sand in them... looks like it was a bit of a special motor even before i got to it lol :P

Anyway, carco is now working magic on it, and it should be properly good after that (with a few enhancments, will tell all when its decided  )

How did that happen? Wasn't this a new engine build a few months ago?? Did you rebuild it in a sand pit? :?

Errr.. yeah, dunno really, it looked clean as when i was building it, but a bearing was scored to sh*t.

Also leaked oil due to a broken bolt...

Yeah, it was a bit of a special build (due to the special builder lol)

Also the bores have been buggered since before i owned it, even though it had been recently rebuilt before that, this damn engine is cursed i tells you!

Decided i never wanted to have to worry about the motor again, so it shall be done properly

So most likely a stock rebuild + Porting, Valve unshrouding, balencing, flywheel lightening, nicer clutch, adjustable cam gears :)

Also thankfully not much money wasted - only the bearings, gaskets and rings i guess - crank is still OK, and rods would survive a nuke :)

Big waste of time, but live and learn, was still interesting!

Just did a bit of intersting math..

If my NA8 makes 101kw ATW, and Hammers makes 76kw ATW, then that should mean mine has approx 122kw @ 7500rpm

122/7500 X 9549 = 155nm @ 7500, which in theory means my motor now makes as much torque at 7500rpm as a stock one does at peak torque

Dunno if im right, but if so, thats a gain im pretty happy with, it sure FEELS that quick! :)

And if thats true, I wonder how peak torque is and where it is... will have to track down the dyno sheet or grab a copy off russell
