Rim repairs

Postby Redondo » Wed Apr 14, 2010 6:54 pm

Hi

I have some NB 16 inch rims with gutter rash. I would like to clean them up and respray them and wonder what is the best way, ie a bit of sand paper or a dremel with grinding tool??

I have heard of Magman but I am in Canberra and there doesnt seem to be anyone local to clean them up before spraying.

Any advice?

Rim repairs

Depends on how badly scratched they are. If its deep, you might want to get a metal file to even the surface out. Then smoothed out by a 600-800 grit wet and dry sand paper, Then finished off with 1200 grit W&D sand paper.

Below is one of a few threads in this forum that discusses wheel restoration/repairs etc.
