Import duty is only calculated on the item's cost, not shipping.
BR series for the MX5 = $1299 (OZ eBay seller)
You wanna pay $1075 from UK, saves $224.
(OZ) Pay $1299 = warrenty, 1 week wait.
(UK) Pay $1075 = no warrenty, 4 week wait.
Cost to rebuild 1 shock = $220. I have done this to previous coilovers.

GST includes shipping and possibly the duty though doesn't it?

Customs has a page dedicated to Buying on the Internet which explains all
If cost of goods (minus freight) is less than A$1000 you don't pay duty or GST.
If the cost of goods is greater than $1000 then you pay 5% duty on the goods, and 10% GST on (goods + duty + freight)

hmm ok, I was thinking that because they are coil overs and not shock + spring that they differed from original suspension type and there for "modifications" had been made...

as long as it all bolts into the original places the old suspension did previously, then it is fine.
same goes for seat rails.

Any more user testimonials on these? I'm contemplating either these or putting koni sports with GC coilovers, works out to about the same money.

I have used Konis on the track in the GM (an NB), as well as PSS9s. I have the V1 BCs in the GM now, as a road car and not used them on the track.
My 'order of merit' would be PSS9, V1 BC and finally Koni on the track (extrapolating in the case of the BCs as they have not been on the track), and PSS9, Koni and BC on the road.
FWIW, my PSS9s are coming off the racecar to be swapped with the BCs.

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

so you would run bc on the track over koni

Based on my experience on the road, yes. I would not buy the Konis as track shocks.

Which do you think gives a more composed ride for the street, the Koni's or the BCs? Is the difference marginal or more pronounced in certain conditions?
The only thing that makes me hesitant with the Koni sports is that FCM remarks, they don't have enough mid and high speed compression to prevent jacking.
Does anyone know if there are shock dyno's available for the BCs?

My memory tells me that the Konis were 'ok' on the street, whereas the BCs are harsh, even full soft - probably a function of the combination of short body and JDM valving.
That I never experienced what FCM are talking about, or never recognised it if it happened, says enough for me. You need to ask what is the basis for such comments, and what relevance it has for your purposes. Some of this has to be taken with a grain of salt - or a truckload - it is the internet you know ...
A shock dyno is (AFAIK) a shock dyno, wouldn't think anything special was needed for your average shock, BC or otherwise.

i have had my bc's in for a few months now and love them!
haven't touched the height out of the box (too lazy. rear needs to be raised about an inch) and i run 18 clicks from hard so can go a bit softer but they are fine for me for a weekend car only.
im preparing the car for some light track work so hopefully they hold up well.
im pretty sure i paid $1200 from ebay. just jap possibly ??? cant really remember
