Iceberg Run - Sunday 1 August

Postby Jimi » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:40 am

In keeping with tradition, and after the success of the last 2 "Iceberg" runs, the 2010 Iceberg will be held on the 1st August. Arguably the coldest time of year, there will be no roofs allowed, so rug up.

Departure: Rofe Park, Hornsby. 6AM sharp Sunday 1st August
Destination: Cessnock, via the Putty Road.

Travel from Rofe Park via Galston Gorge, to Maroota, then join Putty Rd via the Sackville Ferry. Follow the Putty Rd to Milbrodale then divert to Cessnock to find a cafe for breakfast.

Google Map of the route.

The route is not iron-clad, and if anyone has suggestions, please don't hesitate.

Ooooh, very tempted 8) . The 2009 run was brilliant. But I'd need to leave home at ~4am to arrive in time for the traditional 6am departure. I've pencilled it in my calendar.

Don't worry, I'm leaving around then from Cronulla. Maybe do a southerners convoy up.

Also I picked Putty Rd as I know a lot of people had to travel a long way south to Heathcote last year, so this may make it easier for those living north.
