manga, from memory you also tested and failed a number of na8 heads which were either below minimum thickness or metal softness specs - be interesting to see how na6 heads have faired.

Metal softening around the exhaust ports is the big issue. I was told it makes them prone to warping on that side of the chambers - which is what happened to mine. I'd seen the headers on my car glowing dull red on the dyno. Similarly at PI you're holding full throttle for almost 20secs from MG to Turn 2. Maybe softening relates to that sort of mistreatment, not whether it's NA6 or NA8.

my initial thinking was more age related given some na6s are 20+ yo & na8s are approaching that, but use would be another factor.
