Oh snap! So stay away from Sportmax is the moral here I guess. I know they're cheap and they're heavy, but they're also one of the more popular wheels and sell a LOT. So i'd imagine a lot of people bought them for a reason (not just price). I know you tend to get what you pay for most cases, but sometimes there are some truly decent buys out there and was hoping maybe Sportmax might be one of them. They've made a good name for themself on the drift scene from what I've read. Which was partly why I was interested in them.
The idea I was teetering with was in the next 2-3 years, trading up and buying another car and deregistering the mx5 and using it as a track car. Doing a 13b turbo rotary conversion and so on to be used as a drift car. Lol, say what you will about that idea. Anyway I was looking at sportmax and wondering if I could throw them on the car now until then, but it's still hazy if that will even happen. Since I posted this I spent time talking to my brother and we're looking at buying a beat up ae86 or s13 and using that as a basis for a drift car to use together.
