headlight problem

Postby tofuboy » Sun Mar 21, 2010 11:16 pm

hey guys, i did some research and couldnt really find what i needed. my na headlights retractors aren't working properly. The motor is fine because when i retract the lights manually, and click on the highbeam flash, the lights pop up... but wont pop back down.

I read somewhere about the LA12 relay, but my car doesnt seem to have one?!

Can anyone help?!! thank you!

Check that the switch is plugged in. When I installed my headunit I forgot to plug it back in and had the same problem.

From memory, the relay can either be under the dash on the driver's side toward the door, or under the black plastic cover near the wiper motor.

So by retract manually you mean turn the dial on each headlight motor? What happens if you use the red button on the upper dash? If the button doesn't retract or raise the headlights then it might be as Broady said in that the plug behind the switch is not connected. Did this issue start after something was changed or work was done on the car?

thanks for the replies. ill check the switch this weekend. might be a big palm face moment, but better than having to replace stuff.
