Well the car sat out in the rain for the last two weeks as it wasn't dríven and we have just had the unfortunate pleasure of finding out that it leaks and that a closed up, hot, moist interior is a perfect place for for a case of automotive thrush  .
First things first, seats and half the interior came out yesterday, carpet to come out today. Then to get stuck into it all with shampoo and dry it all out thoroughly.
But, this is the first time the car has leaked on us. It has a hard top and it is only the carpet floor on the drivers side that is wet. It doesn't seem to have trickled down from anywhere that I can find and I'm wondering if it hasn't come through the seals between the A pillar and the hardtop as there are some little drainage holes there.

If anyone can shed some light on the common leakage points, what to to look for and how to fix them, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Rob.

Pour some water of the drivers side of the windshield and check to see if it trickles down your accelerator pedal. Mine used to do this, was a worn grommit on the drivers side of the firewall.

The usual places for leaks usually apply to the soft top. Places like the joint in the side window rubbers and the soft top drains located near the seat belt towers. There are another 2 drains at the top of the A-pillar where the rubber "ears" are and at the top of the front quarter window which would apply to the hardtop as well as the soft top. Water goes through little holes and runs through the door rubbers and exits out the bottom.

Another source I found on my friend's NA was a cracked weld holding a relay bracket under the dash. This allowed water from the plenum under the windscreen where the wiper mechanism runs to enter the car.

Best thing is to pull everything out of the car and get someone to hose the car while you're inside looking for leaks.
