Making the Interior Light come on when unlocking via remote?

When I'm unlocking the car in the garage in the morning it's pitch black and I can't see the car, never mind the door handle!

Is there any way of making the Interior Light come on when unlocking via remote (2003 model)?

possible, will need a relay joint with the central locking system and ignition system;
turns on with central locking, but when you place the key in and turn the ignition to ACC it would automatically turn off (ie/ starting car) and then when you take out the key, close the door it's still on, but turns off when locked.

Might need to speak with an auto/car alarm electrician

Most aftermarket alarms already do this so it certainly is possible. As Phil said, speak to a car audio/alarm installer. I'm sure they could come up with something for you.

very possible to do, silvermiata did this to my car

but some auto electrician changed the wiring around when doing other work

I think it's really good when the interior lights come on when you unlock the car.
My Mercedes has this feature and it also turns on the fog lights to light your way as well.
When it's dark, and you lock the car, it also turns the fogs on so you can see your way in the dark.
They remain on for around 30 seconds.

To stop you bashing into something in your dark garage, perhaps you can get the sparky to get your fog lights, or parkers, to turn on too.
