Jules has been a busy boy doing lots of worky and now has extra funds coming in (although still no bloody time).

I've been looking at 195/50/15
PP2's: $215 a corner..yikes. (Recommended by AJ)
S-Drives: $176 a corner. (Recommender by UA)

Has anyone recently seen them cheaper?

Sounds about right mate. I got my first set of PP2's a few years ago for approx $185 a corner, so $215 in this day and age is to be expected. Ask SPy where he got his from, I know he did a lot of hunting for the bestest price last year...

PP2s $152 a corner down here in mid '07 for 195/50/15 & that was a good price at the time.

Maybe I should visit the forum more often. I have just bought tyres for both carsand ended up fitting PP2 t the MX5 and RE001 to the STI. It will be interesting to see how they go. I never drive hard though so I'll probably never strike the issues.

lol more like 195/60, which is RT615 territory.

Might be too chunky for 6.5" though.

I had 185/60/14 on my old 14x6.5 Watanabes and they sat lovely.

Got some RE001's put on my car last week, 195/50R15's, Made in Japan, $129 a corner, so far a damn good tyre, quiet, sticky, but haven't had a chance to take them for a good phang in the hills yet tho

One thing to note, I accidentally ordered 195/55R15s at the start, these are made in Taiwan...

I never had the PP2's Dale. Just the original Pilots that came with the 15" NB8A wheels (which were great).

Well 21 months and 42,000 kilometres later the Aussie made RE001’s are off the car and Michelin Precedas on.

My impression of the RE001’s hasn’t changed. They are a very good sports performance tyre in the dry but as they age they become down right dangerous in the wet. So much so that even slight acceleration on level ground will impart unprovoked wheel spin. Forget trying to corner at any sort of normal speed unless you want to run off the road.

Now with Sydney’s current wet weather, I’m a relieved man as the change back to the Precedas has given me wet weather grip. So much so that I nearly had a Corolla run up the back of my car yesterday. Nothing like looking in the rear view mirror to see white eyes, crossed arms and a sliding car heading for you. Luckily I had a little room to move forward and he stopped.
