There were still spaces available yesterday when I asked that question. Just check the club website motorsport page, download the entry form and send it to Zan (via email is fine). If you just show up on the day, you'll probably miss out (worst case), or it will cost extra for a late entry (best case).

Hey all.. Long time, no update..

I have bought off a fellow forumite, a set of fake Volk TE37's, but they look great and weigh only 5.4 kilos on my scales.. So i am happy.

Image

They also came with a Very used set of Semi-Slicks, but they will be good enough for a Track day or 2, and i can get a feel of what Semis are all about before i spend big bucks.

Image

I have finished respraying my ms03's, but have yet to polish the lips up and get some Rubber on them.
Can't wait to use them as my road wheels!! ATTITUDE!!!

Image

I have also finally taken delivery of a Long Nosed Crank B6 for rebuilding. :D

Image

I was not having crank issues on my short nose, but it was showing its age, and with a few full Track days, sometimes split between 2 drivers, WITH NO BREAK!!! It had a few weaknesses.

Plus i really wanted to tackle something like this myself, now that i have the garage space.

I have pulled the Alternator, Starter, Injectors/Rail, and Intake completely off. Next step will be to remove the Head and drop it in somewhere to be all freshened up.

If anyone knows somewhere good in Sydney to do this, IM ALL EARS!! 8)

My plan is just to freshen the head. replace bearings, Rings and all seals.. I am sick of having a engine that you constantly have to top up oil ETC ETC.......

I can take my time with all this, as the short nose is still runing and i want to be able to just swap them over and everything be done.
Its so much easier to do things with the engine not in that engine bay!! LOL

So there will be a new clutch, slave etc... Which should hopefully transform my lil Beast :)

Finally had a chance to spend some quality time with the new engine.|
Got home from work before dark for a change :D

Got into it.. Main goal was to remove the HEAD!!
This was a first for me, so everything was taken very slowly.

Even the Girl was somewhat keen to lend a hand!! Very much appreciated.

Removed the Cam Cover

This all looks alot cleaner than i imagined???

Removed most of the Timing Belt covers.

The lil lady removing the 4 small bolts holding the Crank Pulley on.

Does anyone know how i remove the rear pulley disc? The rusty looking thing? This does comes off right?

Image

Starting to remove the Camshaft Bearings. Turns out Jeanelle is much more patient than me, and was happy to loosen them in the correct pattern, half turns until loose

Bearings and Camshafts out!!!!

Image

Hydraulic Lifters and Cams OUT!! getting close now.

Image

Head ready to be removed, Undo the 10 Bolts holding it to the Block, I had to be patient with this one, as they are quite tight.

HEAD OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! TA DA!!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Good feeling when this all came off nicely.
i think the piston tops look in pretty good condition, some slight carbon desposits.
Hopefully the Bores are all ok.

Was a very satisfactory experience, and can not wait to get myself deeper :)

Well, decided to go ahead with Supersprints at Wakefield next weekend, without a few bits of gear..
BD bar, Harness etc..

Needed to instal some Bonnet pins and a fire extinguisher.

But who to help?? I would have completely screwed it up!!!

Asked a mates dad of mine, who is super handy, and he FANTASTICALLY agreed to help me out short notice style.

So drove down to Nowra, and rocked up in the slight drizzle that was today, and we set to work.

Very neat work. It'll be great to see another new face at the Supersprints. I hope you've got your entry form in and acceptance letter, because these things book out fast.

It was great to catch up with you at Wakefield Park Supersprint today, Mark. I was entertained watching the rear end of your car bouncing up and down through the corners, and your spin in the fishhook was pretty cool too. Lucky I saw it coming or it could have been ugly. Disappointing to discover that the cause was busted rear shocks which cut your day short. Still 1:19.2967 is a very respectable time in the circumstances, and a new PB if I'm not mistaken too! 8)

Thanks for the fuel too. It saved me a trip into town. I hope your trip home went smoothly, even if it was a bit bouncy.
