Hi Ray317,

Welcome to the forum - and, belatedly, the obsession!

My opinion is that short term, you should go for intake and exhaust first up, as you'll get some fun out of them, and then once you've chosen your headers, the fun will start anew!! (I'll let the others comment, contradict, or correct me if need be - I'm just one man with one opinion after all!)

Additionally - post an introduction thread in this General Chat section, with pics of your ride - we all love all MX5's, regardless of the rivalry between the models/versions, as this will serve you well for any future questions because we'll have an idea of where your car is at.

But the best bit: This is the most friendly and helpful forum I've ever been a member of, so feel free to ask anything you need to know - this is a great bunch of people, with a metric buttload of combined knowledge.

I'll let your fellow NSW members update you on what's what in your state, if you don't already know. :)

i'd get a cat back.. no point getting headers if you're not going to milk it for what its worth (i.e. without an ECU and a decent tune)

what is your budget? there's a 5zigen exhaust robbie9394 is selling atm in the FS section, he is sydney based.

plenty of brands to choose from, if you want custom made at any exhaust shop, or more exotic ones like RSR or autoexe, etc.
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..

sliq is right I think. Most want to achieve a good sporty note without being too quiet and also not droning. A search on the forum will get you info on Melb experiences with Town and Country in Geelong and PCMX5 reckons catback is a good choice. Some would not mention the mod to insurance co's.
