Lavender Gate Farm is situated about 4 kilometres east of the historic village of Wollombi on the road to Cessnock. Your host, Michelle Dineen, has replicated the ambience and essence of Provence in the Australian bush amongst the gumtrees along the banks of Congewai Creek.
Michelle is your chef at the Café that has a Mediterranean style lunch menu. The café has indoor seating on a enclosed veranda with a crushed stone floor and outdoor seating in the adjoining gardens. The farm operates a gift shop and invites you to experience a stroll through their beds of fragrant lavender.

RADDATZ ROADRUNNERS - REGISTRATION CLOSED LIST POSTED-UPDATED 12 MAY 2010 - SEE PAGE 3 BELOW
David Raddatz has agreed to lead a limited number of MX-5s from McGraths Hill fifteen minutes after the main run in his street legal 160 kw turbo charged white NA, that you can negotiate to buy. The delayed start is long enough to prevent a pursuit from developing and ensure that everyone gets to Broke before 9.30 am. David’s run is for 14 selected drivers whose MX-5s, experience and road ethics are known. Early applications will be given greater consideration.
There are strict selection and road rules to maximise on road safety and ensure that there is no inappropriate conduct or racing on public roads, see the Application Form from the Links below. David will drive to the conditions on the day holding the speed limits up hill, down dale and through the twisty bits. If you apply you must be confident that you can safely keep up.
If you wish to seek selection into Raddatz RoadRunners, you need to pre-register and complete the separate Application Form that is in the links below. Applications will be accepted from 1 April 2010 and the 14 MX-5s selected to join David will be announced after the 9 May 2010 registration close off date.
MX-5 TUNING FORUM
David Raddatz will hold a MX-5 Tuning Forum in the gardens of Lavender Gate Farm over tea and coffee starting at around 11.00 am. We need to clear the café around this time to enable the staff to set up for their luncheon trade following our breakfast. You are invited to send your queries about tuning the engine, suspension or transmission of your MX-5 by email to David at info@mx5mania.com.au. David will address the queries raised in the emails and engage with those attending about making your MX-5 go quicker, handle better and answer questions about preparing and driving a MX-5 around the track.

MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB RUN RULES
The most important things to keep in mind at all times on a MX5 BreakFast Run is the run is not a road race; use your common sense; drive within your ability and that of your MX-5 and remember that it is not your role to govern how fast the cars behind are to travel. There should be no problem in letting a car safely pass if a gap opens in front of you for any reason. There can be a problem if you are inconsiderate and hinder others from passing you to continue at the speed at which you are comfortable so that everybody has fun and enjoys a stress free drive. A link to the Run Rules is set out below.

MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB – MX5 MANIA RUN – SUNDAY 16 MAY 2010
I am not really fussed on where I have breakfast but prefer to drive up the Putty Road more than go over the mountains or head down south. The Hunter Valley or Wollombi are my preferred destinations with the timing is about right for a morning drive being about two and a half hours over roads that are well surfaced and twisty, ideal for MX5s. The club cruiser run can start an hour later from around Hornsby and still get to breakfast in time as demonstrated by the Prostrate Cancer Run to the brewery outside Cessnock.

So am I right to assume for Option 2, all we need to do is turn up?
Or do we also need to book a spot like the Breakfast Run and the Raddatz Roadrunners Run?

Hi Hammer,
Due to catering considerations everyone must register to avoid bedlam at the breakfast venue.
It is up to you where you join the run with three options that includes the later Club Cruiser Run with David Raddatz RoadRunners at the other end of the spectrum. Registration for the MX5 Mania Run gives you a spot in the early main run from McGraths Hill or later the cruiser run from Mt Colah. Registration to drive up the Putty Road with David will cost you an extra $10 donation to the run charities," doing a good thing for a good drive" however the maximum number of cars on Raddatz RoadRunners is 15 including David.
