I think you'll find that getting a top made here and having your window fitted to it will cost $$$$$$. MX-5 Plus here can generally get an NB top and frame that will go straight in.....or as Fatty said, you could get lucky and find a car with an NB top already fitted. Forget the window and bring bling things.

ummz, so you ship a top here from the uk... (its suprisingly small can fit in suitcase just becareful of the glass)
Your going to install the top here in Australia I assume?
If your not happy with your top what happens next???
You ship it back and wait two or three weeks for them to fix it? In the meantime your car has no roof???
Ohhh wait I forgot your from the UK!
So you can and get them to honour the warranty because your a UK citizen sorry my bad.

Notwithstanding Wun's bad experience, Prestige, & possibly others, specifically make a glass windowed soft-top for the NA. Alternatively, you can use an NB soft-top on an NA with a little adjustment, so no need for NB frame or getting a soft-top made. See here for discussion & link to adjustment required:

This person in Sydney is also selling NA glass windowed soft-tops & is $85 less if buying in Aust than Prestige - obviously not sure how that will translate for you buying Prestige in UK & shipping or carrying yourself. I've no knowledge of quality of these tops & think the MX5 top is a fairly recent addition to their range:

Excellent, thanks Paul. I'd tried ebay.com.au before looking for hoods but all I found were plastic screened ones.
This thread has been rather educational for me and I am now thinking that I'll source the hood once I'm in Melbourne.

speaking of soft tops..
i have a NB glass softtop fitted to my NA. Has anyone had any minor problems with leaks?
Ive noticed that the NB glass softtop seems to sit slightly higher than the NA softtop and the NA glass windows
leave a small gap between the bottom of the softtop and the top of the window
has anyone experienced this?

At today's US exchange rate, $801.58 AUD, all up. Also, forgot to mention that includes $49.95 US for two new top side tension cables included in the order. ( At $49.95USD for the pair)
If you want the exact price that I payed, you'll have to wait for my Visa bill to come in so that I can see what the exchange rate was when the transaction was processed, and whether a conversion fee was applied. I can't remember whether that card has them in the conditions....

Same here. I have a NB roof fitted to my NA. It is leaking a little bit bit don't know if it is the roof or poor rubber seal condition. But it is true that the sealing rubber is quite soft at the area where two parts interfere. I will try posting a photo to see if we experienced something similar.
Thanks

I have had no problems except the frame at the front is slightly bowed and I get some wind noise. Fortunately no leaks, touch wood.
